DAY 7

Members at Jesus Club Castle Hill love expressing themselves through art.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
This verse has often come up at Jesus Club over the years. It’s a verse that directs the way we see our Members - no longer from a worldly point of view but primarily from an eternal one. From a worldly point of view, people with intellectual disabilities are not successful in society. They don’t achieve degrees from universities or get the top-paid positions in companies. In this verse, God directs us to see all people from an eternal viewpoint. From an eternal viewpoint, all people need forgiveness and this can only come via the death and resurrection of Jesus. From an eternal viewpoint, it matters not whether your body and lifestyle are fabulous but that you are humble to receive this gift of forgiveness.
One day the Members will have new bodies and minds, just as all who believe in Jesus will. Actually I can’t wait to have conversations with some of the nonverbal Members and hear them articulate their thoughts, particularly their thoughts about our friendship in this age. Their disabilities will have been a fleeting phase in their existence while on earth. What matters for the Jesus Club Members and for anyone, is to be known by Jesus.
Pray for Jesus Club

  • Pray for our Art Campaign that will gather artworks from all our clubs, culminating in an exhibition in 2019. The theme of the Art Campaign is New Creation, from the verse 2 Corinthians 5:17. Pray that many people will come and support this campaign. Pray that all Christians will have an active concern for the eternal destiny of this people group.

Thank you for joining us for Jesus Club Prayer Week 2018. May God lovingly answer each prayer.
